Description

This position is responsible for managing the ERP Portfolio for the Cargill Animal Nutrition (CAN) enterprise which includes developing, delivering and managing the end-to-end services for the TC1 SAP Instance within Global IT, ensuring services are provided and continuously improving.

This position is responsible for designing, building, sustaining, pricing, and enhancing overall ERP services to the CAN enterprise, including service delivery and cost recovery.

This position will drive application standardization for the instance, and will collaborate with BRMs to understand the business outcomes of the service, and with architects, technology brokers, and external service providers to understand the underlying technologies. This position will track service KPIs to drive ongoing improvements in service delivery performance. This position will establish and maintain an ERP modernization roadmap for the CAN enterprise working in cooperation with the enterprise architect and CAN business partner. This position will be responsible for setting and executing the strategic vision of the team, ensuring the team is delivering on its promises to the business, and creating a high performing environment through talent management and people leadership.

This position will collaborate with business partners consuming the service as it relates to delivery of SAP Services for the Instance, and will need to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the business needs. This position will partner with the Enterprise Process Owners & Managers on application planning and value realization activities; and with the Regional SAP Deployment Leads who focus on execution and delivery. This position will define the reporting and metrics needed to manage the instance and then ensure the SAP organization is delivering against those needs.

This position will have responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Participates in developing the service strategy for the assigned SAP Instance

  • Leadership of development and sustain activities for the instance

  • Create an annual strategy to develop and enhance the Instance services

  • Understands IT service cost drivers and connects cost of service to consumption drivers

  • Sets price for services based on an understanding of the benchmark service level and price for service in the industry

  • The single point of engagement for demand planning and demand management conversations with business partners around their needs for a specific service

  • Reviews business requests for service enhancements and undertakes cost evaluation, standards reviews, and prioritization

  • Guides continuous improvement efforts for the Instance

  • Meets with service architects to discuss impact of new technologies and the architecture roadmap

  • Manages the SLAs for the E2E Service (internal – Business Partners / external – Vendors & 3rd party partners)

  • Drives standardization (versus customization) of the Instance

  • Responsible for cross-Instance alignment with peer E2E Instance owners

  • Responsible for service descriptions for E2E Service Catalogue

  • Full accountability for E2E Instance Financials and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

  • Responsible for partner relationship management (SAP/Accenture/Capgemini/Deloitte/VirtuStream)

Principal Accountabilities

30% Manage SAP Application Instance

  • Provide strategic leadership for the design/development and support for assigned SAP Instance

  • Responsible for the establishment and ongoing management of the support services provided by the Instance applications team

  • Accountable for the long term global strategy for the assigned Instance, driving standardization & simplification

  • Identify opportunities to grow the service support

  • Accountable to decrease overall run cost and increase enterprise value

  • Address non-compliant SLAs/OLAs with corrective actions to reverse trends

  • Ensure alignment of SAP Application Portfolio Inventory roles & responsibilities

  • Understand impact of EPDT on assigned SAP Instance; maintaining tight alignment to Enterprise Process Owners (EPO)/Enterprise Process Managers (EPM) and Enterprise Architecture (EA) for overall strategy and governance.

  • Lead culture of discipline and compliance and ensure adherence to a global standard process & development methods

  • Ensure effective maintenance and support for the application Instance

  • Collaborate with the SAP Regional Deployment teams to optimize applications

  • Monitor service performance measures in alignment with the ITIL Service Level Management Process

  • Lead and incorporate process industry best practices into standard operations within the Instance organization

  • Leverage shared resources from cost competitive locations (CBS)

  • Ensure that new capabilities required by the business are supported by operations

  • Maintain awareness of application risks and opportunities for expansion and improvement. Seeks out and recommends improvements which enhance capability, performance, and minimize costs

  • Provide recommendations for advancing applications across the globe ensuring high user acceptance and adoption, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business and function strategies

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with TGRC security standards of the instance

15% Manage Cargill Animal Nutrition ERP Portfolio

  • Maintain the CAN ERP Portfolio by establishing a roadmap based on ERP risk, age, supportability, usability, performance, scalability, support status and skills availability as well as alignment with current and future business needs

  • Maintaining an ERP modernization roadmap for the CAN enterprise that includes replatforming, modernizing, replacing, decommissioning and rationalization of ERP’s

  • Aligning the enterprise’s digitalization & analytics strategy with the ERP portfolio

10% Business Results, Metrics, Scorecards and Reporting

  • Maintain metrics of operational performance and evaluates trends. Prepares and executes plans to improve operational support, addressing concerns and needs with high performance solutions

  • Ensure effective performance of Instance application

  • Responsible for continuous improvement of the instance

  • Ensure appropriate metrics (Risk, Issues, Project Status, Resource Utilization, etc.) are maintained, analyzed and acted on in order to ensure effectiveness

  • Report on work status of team as required

15% Responsible for external parties service contracts and OLAs with the business

  • Ensure that the service providers perform to the SLAs documented in the contract in alignment with expectations of the business

  • Ensure consistent processes in line with the sourcing governance model

  • Maintain relationship with 3rd party providers

  • Manage and maintain OLAs with the businesses

  • Effectively negotiate and maintain statements of work (SOW’s) with external parties

30% People and Budget Management

  • Administer/oversees general workforce administration policies and programs in the areas of communications, staffing, training, evaluations, disciplinary actions and safety

  • Accountable for performance management, talent development, succession planning and engagement and through subordinate managers

  • Develop planning for future workforce needs and participates in the selection of employees

  • Responsible for developing strong leaders and a more diverse workforce by seeking multiple approaches to source/attract diverse talent. Incorporates diversity in succession planning and job fulfillment

  • Communicate key decisions, Cargill information and other enabling information to team

  • Accountable for medium-term outlook workforce planning and for performance management, talent development, succession planning, coaching, and engagement for team

  • Lead and implements systems and processes to maintain a highly engaged workforce. Holds direct reports accountable for actively addressing engagement issues and identifies/leverages best practices in engagement. Ensure delivery of quality work product by team

  • Responsible for financial management across team and business planning (forecasting, reporting P&L, etc.)

  • Participate in the annual business planning process

  • Establish the fiscal year budget for team

  • Responsible for the optimization of the TCO.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business, IT, or Computer Science or equivalent work experience

  • 15 years of IT and business / industry work experience, with at least 5 years of experience in managing a distributed team

  • Demonstrated experience managing applications including support & maintenance

  • Demonstrated experience in ERP/SAP program and project delivery in an international context

  • Demonstrated ability to lead Change Management efforts

  • Ability to Deliver Results (Quality & Benefits)

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in ambiguous situations

  • Demonstrated experience owning and negotiating SLA’s/OLA’s

  • Demonstrated experience managing cost/quality/schedule controls

  • Demonstrated experience in multiple areas of operations e.g. Break-fix, Managing Services, etc.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to lead global teams

  • Experience managing ITIL processes

  • Experience working in a global, matrixed, leveraged organization

  • Experience anticipating emerging issues, problem solving and implementing new business solutions across process data and technology

  • Experience interacting effectively, confidentially and appropriately with various levels management, customers and vendors/partners

  • Ability to work across multiple groups and geographies to solve operations problems and avoid continuity risk

  • Business fluency in English and local languages as defined

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree (MBA).

  • Experience in SAP Development

  • Project management certification preferred

  • Experience in a large SAP environment

  • Able to lead strategy development and effectively convert strategy into execution; System thinking capability
