Duties and responsibilities

Financial returns:


Assist in the creation of and work within the

established Human Resources department training budget and control expenses.


Monitor staffing to manage costs.



Identify and assess future and current training

needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and

consultation with line managers


Draw an overall or individualized training and

development plan that addresses needs and expectations of each staff member


Create and maintain up-to-date an Annual Training

Plan taking into account hotel and people priorities. Also make available the

Monthly Training Calendar to all employees.


Deploy a wide variety of training methods –

Conduct, organise and/or tailor internal training programs as necessary including

induction and orientation sessions


Develop, foster and organise IHG cross trainings

within the hotel and provide opportunities for ongoing development


Create programmes to foster a positive work

environment for all employees. Support and administer an annual team member

satisfaction survey.


Educate and train managers on progressive

discipline processes in accordance with hotel or company policies including

progressive disciplinary process, performance management process, and related

programmes to foster productivity, and enhance performance.


Oversee maintenance of accurate and up-to-date

personnel files and records for all employees regarding trainings and

development aspects.

Guest experience:


Develop creative ways to inspire and motivate

team members to provide guests with a unique experience.


Make time to interact with guests to solicit

feedback and build relationships to understand how team members can increase

guest satisfaction.


Work with department managers to develop

initiatives to reach service standards and drive continuous improvement in the

guest experience.

Responsible business:


Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel

and the brand in the local community and promote team member involvement in

local community. Build loyalty to the firm thanks to suitable training and

development initiatives.


Enhance employees’ skills, performance,

productivity and quality of work


Monitor and evaluate training programs’ effectiveness,

success and ROI periodically and report on them


Maintain a keen understanding of training trends,

developments and best practices


Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws

and hotel or company policies and procedures. Conduct annual HR

compliance/standards self-audit.


Research and investigate all workplace issues to

discover facts, identify potential risks to the hotel or company, and

facilitate resolution through your employee training programs. Escalate serious

issues in a timely manner.


Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve

as manager on duty.


Qualifications and requirements

High school diploma / secondary education / equivalent

plus 2 years of related experience in Human Resources, or an equivalent

combination of education and experience. Some college courses in Human

Resources, Employment Law or related field preferred. Must speak fluent

English. Other languages may be preferred.
