Job Overview / Key Responsibilities

The BeLux marketing manager, currently based in Brussels, is responsible for all marketing and communications activities within Belgium and Luxembourg, covering all business channels (Retail, Institutional and iShares). This involves working closely with the heads of the different business channels and their sales teams based in our local offices. The successful candidate will work closely with the EMEA CMO and marketing manager in France to deliver impactful marketing and communications programs for the Retail and iShares businesses in Belgium and Luxembourg and forms an integral part of the extended Frabelux Marketing team.

Responsibilities include:

1. Strategy & Brand

Develop the BeLux Marketing strategy aligned with the local business strategy as well as managing the local brand identity for BlackRock and iShares in line with the global brand strategy and the EMEA Marketing strategy. The team implements the marketing mix across multiple distribution and communications channels in the BeLux region.

  • Work with the EMEA CMO to develop marketing objectives and strategy in line with the Belgium and Luxembourg businesses objectives and goals

  • Assume responsibility for quality of marketing executions for Belgium & Luxembourg.

  • Develop a full understanding of the Belgium & Luxembourg investment market in order to ensure successful positioning and marketing of BlackRock products

  • Develop a deep knowledge of Retail, iShares and institutional products, pan European marketing strategies and distribution channels

  • Adapt marketing campaigns and collateral developed by the central marketing teams so they are relevant for the local market (including translation and local copy changes), working closely with a number of stakeholders and agencies such as translation agencies, compliance, digital, creative services etc.

  • Manage marketing budget for Belgium & Luxembourg.

  • Interaction with senior stakeholders within the business, agency partners and compliance to manage projects from end-to-end

  • Report on efficiency and effectiveness of the marketing program for Belgium 2. Client Marketing & Client Communications Develop and implement a marketing mix across distribution channels and key client segments such as banks, private banks, insurance companies, financial advisers, discretionary wealth managers and end investors. Client communication covers all local online and offline communication activities, including websites, print and online newsletters, regular market updates, collateral and bespoke co-marketing programs.With a specific focus on further developing our digital marketing strategy and capabilities:

  • Executing campaigns through Eloqua

  • Supporting the efficient use of our internal CRM tool

  • Developing a website for Belgium and Luxembourg driven by content, and aimed at generating qualitative sales lead

  • Manage content proactively in local language of local websites in line with International retail, iShares and institutional web strategy & messaging

  • Maintaining website by using JIRAAll of this in a campaign driven approach, managed through the content management system Percolate. 3. Event Marketing The local marketing event program includes sponsored events, partnership events, industry fairs, seminars as well as BlackRock’s proprietary event activity. Content will be aligned to the overall marketing themes with local adaptation as relevant. The team carries overall responsibility for defining the local event strategy and takes ownership for the successful delivery of all events in the region, including event logistics and organization, and will liaise with the central Events Team as applicable for larger events.

The BeLux Marketing team works closely with the regional EMEA Marketing teams and the centralized Marketing functions (digital, brand and advertising, direct marketing, events and creative services), all located in London, UK.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Vice President level with proven experience working in the European financial services, ideally Belgium

  • Extensive experience working in marketing (at least 5 years), including experience in digital and co-marketing

  • Asset management knowledge

  • Strategic and creative thinker with attention to detail and focus on delivery

  • Project management skills, including an ability to move projects forward in a complex environment

  • Ability to integrate input from multiple stakeholders while maintaining project schedules

  • Ability to liaise with management of all levels to drive and communicate strategy

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment – adaptable, reliable with a strong ‘can do attitude’

  • Able to operate in a fast-paced environment with flexibility in regard to changes in strategy and project plan

  • A proven track record of professional and personal achievement

  • Educated to degree level

  • Essential: Fluency in French, English and Dutch
