Philips Brand Communications & Digital Manager Benelux in Brussel (Bruxelles), Belgium

As the Sr. Communications Manager for Philips Belgium-Luxemburg you will be in the lead for a holistic brand activation plan in Belgium and Luxemburg, including in- and external communications, paid media and digital, to strengthen Philips’ reputation as leading in innovation that truly matters to people. You will focus on the development and execution of a strategic brand communication plan towards media and key stakeholders (mainly B2B, focusing on influencers, business & key opinion leaders).

You will be responsible for:

  • Building, protecting and promoting the brand with integrated communications and reputation management for Philips in Belgium & Luxemburg with locally relevant campaign platforms and across multiple channels, including online.

  • Project management BeLux brand activation plan: incl. overall content creation & planning for deployment via own, earned & paid media

  • Overall coordination internal communications for the Philips Sales Organization BeLux (incl. Townmeetings, Philips Magazines, coaching internal comms assistant)

  • Proactive strategic PR in support of the Health systems business in Belux in particular, building on the Benelux Health systems marketing communications plan, global priorities and local cases.

  • Proactive media management with a number of key media contacts, counseling executives for media interviews as well as spokesmanship towards BeLux media on issues regarding Philips.

  • Managing company discussions (internally and externally) with key stakeholders on topics that include, but not limited to financial communications, brand and company reputation

  • Issues management; managing PR and crisis issues as they arise, implementing group guidance

  • Orchestrating & supporting the online influencer program by creating and facilitating relevant digital content on key themes, in collaboration with the social media team

Job Context

To achieve this aim for the Benelux area, Philips has a brand, communications & digital department based in Eindhoven/Brussels which works closely with functional communications teams embedded in each of the Philips sectors as well as the global team based at the company headquarters in Amsterdam.

The role of brand, communications & digital department is to build, protect and promote the Philips brand with all key stakeholder audiences - including our employees - across all relevant touch points supporting short- and long-term business results.

Candidate responsibilities

You are a part of

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • A completed Master’s Degree

  • About 7 – 10 years relevant experience, managing complex communications processes across a complex / matrix organization

  • Superior brand & reputation management skills, able to localize global brand and reputation strategy and execute

  • Understands branding & reputation management in digital age, incl. various digital communication platforms to drive brand positioning & reputation (social media knowledge)

  • Understands impact of brand through E2E communication & engagement journey with customers & consumers. Can effectively execute this understanding with meaningful programs & cross-channel messaging

  • Experience in Healthcare or Technology B2B, B2G Communications is strongly preferred

  • Strong communication competencies: positioning, messaging and storytelling, including crisis and PR management, managing & influencing multiple senior stakeholders

  • Strong interpersonal skills; natural connector and collaborator within local organization, local Markets and global Business groups

  • Strong ability to creatively solve problems (under time pressure)

  • Organizational sensitivity

  • Possesses strong analytical skills and rigor, is data driven and has the market intelligence aptitude and capability to track and measure success

  • Has excellent organization skills & is results driven, can combine strategic thinking with effective execution, whilst being flexible when needed

Location: Brussels, with flexibility to be in Eindhoven regularly
