Chemours Logistics Buyer in Beveren, Belgium
Interacts on a strategic level with the SBUs to capture the business needs (VOC - voice of the client) and supports the Business Units as logistics expert
Performs logistics studies and projects as a project leader or as a team member.
Provides assistance to the BUs and PLR teams on special projects such as new business, new markets, supply chain transformations etc.
Networks with the Logistics team members across the globe
Acts as a center of competency for warehousing and transportation
Maintains the logistics competency and expertise in Chemours by::
o Studying latest developments in the logistics market / logistics industry in terms of systems, processes and technologies.
o Bringing the logistics expertise to the BU and supply chain decision makers.
o Participating in logistics trainings, events, fairs etc
Provides operational support services in international and domestic freight and/or warehousing including logistics studies.
Procures logistics suppliers in international and domestic freight: forwarders, carriers, inland carriers and/or warehouse and 3PL providers
Is the interface between the business unit’s supply chain and customer service areas in order to develop a leveraged & aligned effort
Participates in global & regional projects.
Improves the services to the businesses & lowers the total cost of ownership.
Represents Europe in the global modal teams & ensures that all of the critical needs to quality of the internal customers in the region are met.
Develops a permanent understanding of the market & is acquainted with new technologies & trends.
Understands & stays up to date about local & international legislation & regulations related to cross border logistics & foreign trade, anticipates market trends & gives directions to the stake holders (modal team, internal customers & management).
Participates in global tenders & leads tenders in Europe.
Incorporates the performance levels of the suppliers in the final negotiations
Drives suppliers’ evaluations & incorporates the performance levels of the suppliers in the final negotiations
Maintains the EMEA rates & contracts in the appropriated logistics systems / databases.
Translates the requests from the internal customers within the global networks & towards the suppliers.
Translates the offer from the suppliers towards the internal customers.
Regularly meets with suppliers to ensure company's needs are met &/or to anticipate opportunities for optimization
Creates cost metrics on request of the SBUs.
- Permanently works with the internal customers to understand their present & future critical to quality needs, identifies opportunities for improvement, develops & implements new alternatives. Permanently looks for opportunities of leveraging business needs & solutions
Associate or Bachelor degree or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.
Communication and negotiating skills.
Language skills: English and at least 1 other European language (more languages is an asset).
Strong knowledge & capability in logistics and supply chain (domestic & international)
PC skills: Microsoft, Transport Management System, SAP is a plus.
Strong affinity with regulatory & compliance reference texts.
Project management skills
General logistics knowledge and understanding of business needs.
