The datacentre presales has a crucial role in the relationship with our customers.

The presales has a broad view of the complete datacentre, and leads the technical discussion with the customers to define a long term roadmap, without losing sight of the short term objectives. For that roadmap, the presales has an important role in deciding which solutions will fit the customer best, out of the many solutions that are available within the DELLEMC portfolio.

A successful presales is capable of having discussions about both the business needs and about the technical solution that will satisfy does needs for the customer. This requires a broad interest in technology, and the ability to understand different types of technology like servers, storage, software, network, security, ..

A presales is able to articulate the benefits of an approach or technical solution in such a way that the customer does not only understand the technical details and features, but is also convinced that DELLEMC is acting as a trusted advisor and partner for his journey in IT automation. The presales is interested in new technologies and evolutions within IT, and is able to bring that knowledge across to customers and colleagues.

The presales organization is supported by the different presales teams, and works in close collaboration with sales and specialized sales on the account. This means that a presales needs to be a great team player, with the ability to take the technical lead in the internal virtual team. In many cases, this means that the presales must be able to act as a project manager and delegate work to other teams, while keeping the overall view and responsibility for the project.
