Job Description

The Senior Demand Planner for Kipling will drive, shape and optimize the monthly forecasting and demand planning process. The purpose of the role is to gather, predict, monitor, adjust and influence brand demand in line with financial plans for all distribution channels. As part of the Operations team, this is a highly visible role within the Kipling organization, responsible to balance demand and supply in a cost-effective way.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with internal functions to develop an understanding of the Kipling multi-channel business in terms of expected revenue levels, growth plans and product mixes for these channels

  • Apply the multi-channel approach into the forecasting model

  • Gather, analyze and validate data to provide monthly demand forecasts in a timely manner

  • Monitor forecast versus financial targets/actual sales

  • Monitor changes in forecast and assess impact on inventory

  • Include forecast assumptions and measure risks and/or opportunities in each forecast

  • Partner up with the supply planning team

  • Prepare periodic Demand Review meetings, where demand plans are translated into buy plans and follow-up on action items

  • Balance current and future demand with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer orders

  • Monitor SKU performance levels and prepare recommendations on SKU efficiency

  • Develop and maintain a close relationship with Sales

  • Perform root cause analysis to determine next steps for continuous improvement of inputs, methodologies and statistical manipulation of forecast models supporting monthly forecast development

  • Take leadership in driving, improving and documenting the demand planning process (techniques/method/approach) and tools (current and future)

  • Become a key player in the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process

  • Report season summaries with facts and figures, recommendations and key learnings

  • Guide and coach your direct reports.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Demand Forecasting and/or Inventory Management

  • Strong knowledge of computer systems with emphasis on Microsoft Office Excel and Access

  • Experience with Cognos or SAP is a bonus.

  • Accurate with eye for detail and strong analytical skills

  • Good communication skills, problem solver, proactive, able to prioritize tasks, stress resistant

  • Team player but can also work independent at the same time, able to keep the helicopter view

  • Fluent in English, spoken as well as written. Knowledge of Dutch language is an asset
