The deal will be subject to customary closing conditions such as regulatory review and appropriate consultation and we expect this to be complete by mid-2017. Water & Process Technologies will operate business as usual through this process and will continue to meet its commitments to its valued customers and employees. The Global Process Safety Engineer will identify quality and process safety risks, issues and develop mitigation strategies for GE Water. You will support all global production plants with special focus on the 3 reaction plants and will closely work together with the engineering and technology teams.
As the Chemical Process Safety Engineer, you will:
Support the Global Process Chemistry team to ensure all aspects of process safety are taken care of in projects and SOP reviews in all reaction and blending plants
Review as-is designs, identify gaps and propose solutions to improve the safety and exposure of people and environment
Work closely together with the engineering team during the design and start-up of projects at the plants and provide technical process safety support
Assemble process safety information, including P&IDs, equipment design data, and process parameters needed for successful completion of Process Hazard Analyses (PHA / HAZOP)
Implement company’s internal standards for hazardous process (e.g. flammable materials, combustible dust handling and neutralization reactions)
Implement, maintain, and improve all aspects of the company's process safety program
Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, EU and country / state / local requirements including Process Safety Management, RMP, Seveso
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college or equivalent working experience
Significant chemical industry experience
- Abilityand willingness to travel 25% of the time
Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical industry
Knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management, EPA and SEVESO experience
Experience conducting employee process safety training
Quality and Compliance auditing skills
Experience in reading engineering diagrams
LEAN or Six Sigma experience
ISO 14001 experience
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Capable of leading initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Proven analytical and organizational ability
