What are we doing?

Within our location in Belgium, Olen (Sensor-NITE), we have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and highly accurate Material Specialist for our High Temperature Sensors Lab. Sensor-NITE is developing and producing high-temperature sensors and exhaust gas temperature sensors. Car manufacturers today are faced with increasingly conflicting changeless, technological requirements are continuously stepped up, because of the demand for performance, safety, efficiency and clean emissions. With our innovative products we strive to contribute to an environmentally friendly industry.

What are you going to do?

The Materials Specialist will conduct research on advanced materials development, validate and deliver new materials (ceramics and steel). In this role you will work as an independent internal consultant for a diversity of projects for several departments.

What are your tasks and responsibilities?

  • Actively participate in product innovation projects

  • Build and maintain relevant network with universities, Institutes and Industry

  • Interacting with customers to communicate R&D activities, understand future trends in ceramics, steel and plastic solve related problems and identify new development opportunities as needed.

  • Analyze test results against target specifications and test objectives. Modify or adjust materials to meet specifications

What is your background?

  • You have a Master’s Degree or PhD in Material Engineering (preferably with a focus on ceramics and steel)

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience

  • Familiar with SAM analyses

  • Strong organization and teamwork skills.

  • Strong research and detail-oriented mindset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
