Design best possible manufacturing processes (HSE, lead time, quality, cost)

Lead improvement initiatives in manufacturing environment.

Plan and organize production processes.

  1. HSE Rules & Requirements (20%):
  • Participates in the risk analysis for work places, and ensure all new equipments are compliant with HSE standards and regulation,

  • Establish the working and safety instructions linked to the equipments and process operations,

  • Participates to the root cause analysis of any LTI (lost time incident and/or injury; frequency rate) and implement corrective actions as required.

  1. Design, Routes & Costings (20%):
  • Participates to “design reviews” with engineering and ensure that new products are aligned with our manufacturing capabilities,

  • Provide a 24h service for Routes in AX (ETO products) :

  • Define work sequence for optimum manufacturing process (inside or outside TDW),

  • Defines best suitable work centers, based on equipment constraints,

  • Define cycle time for each operations, based on available standards,

  • If required, manage special tooling (test vessels, caps, fixtures, etc..),

  • If required, modify BoM according to manufacturing needs (subout, tooling, etc…),

  • Participate to product costing evaluation by providing standard cost references.

  1. Production Planning (40%):
  • Develop and adjust future production plans (planned orders) according to planned material deliveries,

  • Notify Customer services for any planned delay,

  • Validate work orders based on material confirmed delivery dates,

  • Prepare production package (route card, drawing, wps, specs, etc.) and start work orders in due time,

  • Call for materials (establish picking list),

  • Provide daily follow-up of ongoing orders, adjust the plan, and keep Customer Services informed,

  • Organize subcontracted activities with Procurement department,

  • Report the end of production (RAF),

  • Acts as backup to Production Supervisor when required,

  • Every production plan must be managed through AX “future messages”, across the complete organization (sales, procurement, production).

  1. Tools & Equipment, in partnership with Manufacturing Specialists (10%):
  • Propose new investments, with relevant data and realistic benefits,

  • Lead new equipment acquisition,

  • Lead new product introduction,

  • Define new tooling needs and implement in relevant cases.

  1. LEAN, 6 SIGMA and Continuous Improvement (10%):
  • Facilitate work sessions (data gathering, brainstorming, problem solving, decision making,..),

  • Provide Lean/SixSigma expertise (value stream mapping, visual management, kanbans, one piece flow, metrics, error proofing) and spot major hick-ups or bottlenecks for rapid improvement,

  • Implement improvement initiatives.

  • Engineering degree or equivalent by experience,

  • 6 sigma green belt or similar is nice to have,

  • Good communication, team building and team working competences,

  • Experienced in the following tools : FMEA, Root cause analysis, SMED, TPM, 5S, Kanban, Continuous Improvement, Lean,

  • Within minimum 2 years of experience in similar function (Manufacturing Engineering or Planning),

  • Good communication skills in English, written and oral,

  • Experience in robotics (Cloos) and/or automation is nice to have.
