Plant Manager Ieper (Job Number: PLA00001053)
This position will manage the overall operation and all aspects of a manufacturing facility (70 employees), with high hazard process and food safety manufacturing units including production, maintenance, technology, and other manufacturing units/functions. Also responsible for environmental, safety, food quality/safety, security, quality control, accounting, distribution, and purchasing activities. Ensures continuous and efficient production in desired quantity, food quality, and product quality, cost effective maintenance, and appropriate technology support. Sets expectations and work environment standards necessary for successful operation. Ensures appropriate personnel planning, staffing, and performance management. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures and safety standards. Interacts with the government agencies and community to maintain right to operate. This position will report to the DuPont Nutrition & Health Protein Solutions Manufacturing and Supply Chain Leader.
The responsibilities for the Plant Manager position will include but are not limited to:
Safety, Health, Environmental & Core Values
Establishes managing processes for advancing and ensuring consistency of Core Values (SHE/PSM, Ethics & Respect for People) across the site.
Ensures zero off site food safety incidents,
Ensures regulatory compliance across all core values including food safety.
Ensures follow up and consistency of food safety plan (HACCP, pre-requisites)
Leads identification and prioritization of risk reduction opportunities, establishes clear priorities and supports effective resourcing to drive improvement at the site. (SHE/PSM, Site security)
Maintains positive government and community relations through active participation with local organizations and agencies.
Accountable for leading and managing the site’s Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality, and Food Safety Management in accordance with required certifications and GMP.
Operations Strategy & Planning
Communication of business objectives, priorities and progress across the site
2017/2018 primary improvement areas in Cost and Capacity release
Communication within DuPont off-site and above site
Develops, implements and renews a 3-5 years site strategic plan, including a clear site vision, which supports the business and corporate strategy.
Leads site staff team in identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and aligning action plans with business strategy and anticipating future needs.
Accountable for advancing Lean culture of continuous improvement (visual management, people, environment, site vision, empowerment, accountability, visual controls, performance dialog, structured problem solving,..) . Building on structure changes implemented in January 2017.
Accountable for meeting business objectives for production, cost, delivery and quality
Champions best practice implementation for production and maintenance. Leverages best practices with sister Company sites.
Responsible for site’s infrastructure capabilities, improvement and resource plans via evergreen 5 year plan.
Utilizes performance tracking metrics to drive execution.
Product and Food Quality
Manages food quality programs across site to prevent internal micro situations.
Maintains Site certifications for Halal and Kosher.
Provides support for units regarding quality system, maintaining certifications and continuous improvement of product to meet customer needs.
Supports attainment of the Units fixed and plant related variable cost and capital objectives to meet commitments for the site. Optimizes Raw material & stores inventory.
Reviews financial activity reports & statements to determine progress & status in attaining site support costs (fixed & plant related variable) objectives and making adjustments, corrections & plans in accordance with current conditions and business requirements.
Morale, Talent Mgmt & Capability Building
Develops people at the site (feedback, coaching, mentoring, delegation, difficult conversations, capability building)
Encourages employee’s engagement and fosters empowerment and ownership through leader standard work practices.
Establishes and ensures the effectiveness of two-way communication processes across the site.
Manages staffing strategy (core/ variable, overtime management and labor planning)
Provides strategy and ensures effectiveness of the reward and recognition system across the plant
Strategically guides employee and labor relations including working with site’s third party representation.
Utilizes talent management processes and systems (succession planning, top talent, Individual Performance Plan)
Skills in team management
Must have either Plant Manager I orUnit Manager experience.
Manufacturing experience whichincludes exposure to SHE, Quality, Maintenance and Continuous Improvementsystems and tools.
PSM high hazard experiencepreferred.
Food Safety/Quality experiencepreferred

Bachelor degree in engineering orscience or equivalent experience, Six Sigma Green Belt and/or DPS ExpertCertification required, Black Belt and/or DPS Lead Expert preferred
Language:Flemish or French preferred.English required.
