Dow Chemical Regulatory and Product Stewardship Specialist Europe, Dow Microbial Control in Hainaut, Belgium
The Dow Microbial Control Business has an opening for aProduct Stewardship and Regulatory Specialist (m/f) in the European Region. This role will be sized to fit candidates in the 208-238 job level. This role to be located in one of Dow major European location. Seneffe, Belgium, near Brussels would be a preferred location.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Dow Microbial Control Global Associate Director of Regulatory Sciences and Product Stewardship, this role is responsible for the regulatory support of biocidal products and active ingredients (substances) at the EU level under the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) and for supporting National Registrations across the European Region as well as ensuring compliance of business products and operational activities with REACH. This role also provides product stewardship leadership for a subset of Dow Microbial Control products used across numerous biocides markets. This individual will work in close coordination with other members of the Dow Microbial Control Regulatory/Product Stewardship Team in support of business/functional strategy implementation and will report to the European Regulatory/Product Stewardship Manager.
- Specific Responsibilities Include: *
*Develop, submit and support BPR dossiers for active substances and biocidal products, including addressing evaluation questions from various member states.
Coordinate of scientific work to support risk assessment
Provide European regulatory input during project meetings and complete related regulatory activitiesincluding submission of data in support of production planning efforts.
Provide issue management support for products and actives across key external stakeholder groups through active participation in trade associations and via advocacy with governmental agencies.
Support the sustainability efforts in Dow Microbial Control and Dow’s Corporate Product Sustainability goals. U tilize the Business Risk Review Work process in line with business needs.
Serve as a Market Focal Point supporting the regulatory and product stewardship needs of that market. P rovide regulatory and product stewardship training to business partners and custo mers
EXTERNAL FOCUS: *
Expected to spend up to 10-15% of time external to the company supporting business customer interactions, trade associations or interacting with government officials
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: *
Broad science work experience and skill set
PhD or MSc degree in Toxicology or Environmental Science.
3 to 5 years related work experience in biocides European Regulation
Pactical knowledge in one of the following market: Oil & Gas, Paints and Coatings or Consumer Products
Fluency in the English language
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Project management experience
