Role Summary:

As design engineer ( Run the Plant engineer ) work within the Technology department more specific on plastic enclosures ( Residential & Industrial )

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design changes on existing products or small new designs for key accounts or specific projects ( Tender business, equipped enclosure solutions, customizations on existing products )

  • Support Lab in testing and homologation process of updated or new designs and compliance assurance process

  • Support and work on productivity projects ( Direct Material Productivity projects, Manufacturing and Sourcing cost out projects, participation in Action Work Outs )

  • Maintenance of product documentation in Windchill ( drawings, Bill of Materials, material specifications, … )

  • Support to other functions within the Gent plant on their daily activities ( Manufacturing, Lab, Quality, Sourcing, Marketing )

  • Analyzing and solving quality issues, initiating sample build and lab testing, evaluating test samples, introduction and follow up of design changes in manufacturing

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience

  • Languages : Dutch and working knowledge of English Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and tasks

  • Ability to work in team environment with other functions

  • Communication skills ( towards other functions )

  • 3D CAD experience ( Creo knowledge will be an advantage)

  • Windchill knowledge will be an advantage

  • Working knowledge with MS Office

  • Product design experience ( thermoplastic / polyester SMC parts ) will be an advantage
