Summary of Responsibilities:

As an Accounts Payable Accountant, your role is to facilitate the Accounts payable process, liaising with vendors and internal customers to ensure the timely processing and payment of invoices on behalf of the Belgian Lubrizol entities.

You will assist with the financial reporting process in order to properly accrue expenses and reconcile B/S accounts.

You ensure compliance with SOX internal controls.

As AP Accountant your primary functions will be:

  • Be responsible for matching and processing of vendor and inter-company invoices in SAP (3-way match).

  • Code and process freight, warehousing & duty invoices, ensuring all goods and services are booked in or duly authorised (direct invoice entry).

  • Make batch and manual payments to vendors according to the payment terms, review and follow up of the A/P ageing list.

  • Resolve invoice/payment queries, review and follow-up of A/P ageing list.

  • Ensure problem solving and trouble shooting of non approved purchase invoices.

  • Complete the periodic reconciliation and follow-up of balance sheet accounts with regard to Accounts Payable.

  • Perform appropriate accrual accounting.

  • Contribute to the compliance of internal SOX controls relating to Purchasing - A/P process, reviewing and maintaining Accounts Payable written procedures.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience:

Bachelor degree in Accountancy.

Strong written and spoken command of Dutch and English, knowledge of other European languages is an asset.

Knowledge of SAP is preferred.

Acquainted with Excel, Word and Outlook.
