Description:

The FSQR specialist for Antwerp & Ghent supports the Location FSQR Lead in the planning, development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of all FSQR systems in the Antwerp & Gent location and is responsible to implement specific FSQR topics timely.

Major Tasks:

DEVELOP IMPLEMENT AND ASSESS PROCESS/SYSTEMS

  • Responsible for revisions of predefined PRPs and supporting the Location FSQR Lead in implementing and assessing process/systems

  • Implements and monitors pre-defined laboratory and procedural standards across one or more location in line with the COE QC.

  • Implements and maintains pre-defined food/feed safety and quality programs and protocols within one or more location. Makes recommendations for continuous improvement. (FSQR manual, Unilab, Interspec...)

COLLECT AND ANALYZE DATA, DOCUMENT RESULTS

  • Responsible to log audit and test data/ results accurately and appropriately in the correct Information Management Systems.

  • Organizes and maintains accurate and pertinent data (e.g., spreadsheets, graphs, and reports) to assure that processes and products, and any changes, are controlled. Maintains systems/techniques for reporting data across functional areas. Assists the locations FSQR lead Antwerp & Gent with internal presentations related to the locations quality and food safety policies, practices, procedures and results/ measures.

  • Responsibility in the FSQR release of incoming raw materials and finished products, and the data collection of all FSQR an traceability related analysis

  • Take the lead, in close collaboration with the Location FSQR lead, in COE QC initiatives for the QC lab Gent and QC operations Antwerp and Gent.

  • Responsible to maintain and improve the integrated Laboratory Information System (LIMS, Unilab, Report Manager, Interspec X-refs biodiesel).

PERFORM PREVENTION ACTIVITIES AND ISSUE RESOLUTION

  • Responsible to take actions to prevent FSQR issues across the locations.

  • Responsible to report any issues of non-compliance or non-conformance to food safety/quality standards with the appropriate level of urgency. (Enablon, Product Safety alerts, ...)

  • Responsible to organize and inspect plant operations environment and equipment to ensure compliance with quality and food/feed safety standards. (Plant inspections, internal auditing)

SHAPE FOOD SAFETY, QUALITY AND REGULATORY CULTURE/ REPUTATION

  • Supports the Location FSQR Lead in shaping food safety, quality and regulatory culture/reputation at the location – supports when implementing customer requirements and operations to ensure standard/expectations are met, reports hierarchically to the location FSQR Lead.

  • Key player in the design and delivery of training materials for internal FSQR people and operations employees at various levels in the organization related to food/feed safety and quality issues, practices and risks. Promotes the development of food safety mentality/culture.

PEOPLE/ RESOURCE/ TRAINING

  • Indirect supervising a small team of Food Safety Quality Technicians in the QC laboratory in Gent in absence of / as back-up of the Locations FSQR lead.

Qualifications

  • Industrial Engineer in (bio)chemistry or food industry or an equal scientific education in combination with knowledge and interest in laboratory and processing

  • Basic knowledge of specific analytical techniques

  • Basic knowledge of calibration techniques

  • Basic knowledge of HACCP, FSCC, EFISC

  • Basic knowledge of Food and Feed Safety legislation

  • Willing to travel between the Antwerp and Ghent location

  • Basic knowledge of auditing techniques

  • Feeling or interest in production/processing environment

  • Good knowledge of Dutch and English (speak, write, read)

  • Quick learning and potential to grow in the function

  • Preferably 2-5 years of relevant experience
